Welcome to the web site of St Andrews Amateur Operatic Society. We have been performing amateur shows and providing entertainment in St Andrews for over 60 years. Founded in 1939 the society was unable to perform its first show for a number of years, this was mainly due to the Second World War. Finally in 1947 the society was to perform its first show "The Pirates of Penzance" and has continued to entertain the residents of St Andrews ever since. In 2002 St Andrews AOS began performing its shows at the Byre Theatre St Andrews after moving here from the Town Hall.
The aim of the society is to provide musical entertainment to the local population of St Andrews, while at the same time provide a society for those people who have an interest in acting, singing, dancing or stage work in which they can join.
By using the navigation buttons on the left-hand side of this page you will be able to find out further information about the society and also how you can become involved with us.
